RedotPay vs InstaPay and Fawry: different products, different jobs

Egyptian Banks Company (EBC) describes the Instant Payment Network (IPN) as national real-time payment infrastructure; the Central Bank of Egypt's 6 June 2024 news item discusses Egypt's IPN and the InstaPay application with a visiting Central Bank of Kenya delegation. Fawry's own website lists digital and bill payments, cash deposit and withdrawal, and FawryPlus among its consumer services; this guide has not verified the licence status of each Fawry product line.

Together those rails cover much of everyday EGP digital life. Naming them here is descriptive context—not a ranking, and not a claim that RedotPay is better for every domestic EGP payment.

Two questions, two answers:

• Does RedotPay restrict Egypt? Registration and virtual cards are not blocked by the unsupported-country or card-issuance lists as of 17 September 2026. Physical delivery is blocked — Egypt is on the Card Delivery Restrictions page.
• What does Egyptian banking law say about cryptocurrency? The National Bank of Egypt's English Code of Ethics quotes Article 206 of Law No. 194 of 2020 (Central Bank and Banking Sector law, issued 15 September 2020, in force 16 September 2020): issuing, trading, or promoting cryptocurrencies, and creating or operating platforms for trading them, is prohibited without a licence from the CBE Board of Directors, with penalties referenced under Article 225. Because of that Article 206 frame, this page does not provide steps to buy crypto with InstaPay, Fawry, or EGP bank transfers for a RedotPay balance. RedotPay not listing Egypt does not override Egyptian law. This page is not legal advice.

InstaPay and Fawry solve domestic EGP payments well. They do not automatically unlock every overseas subscription or foreign e-commerce checkout that expects an international card network. RedotPay addresses that second job after KYC and funding with crypto — plan on a virtual card with SAVE2, not a shipped physical card.

Confirm every amount on the app checkout screen before payment.

• Do not assume a RedotPay card tops up InstaPay or Fawry—or the reverse.
• Do not treat this page as a how-to for buying crypto with EGP via InstaPay or Fawry.
• Do not pay for a physical card expecting delivery to Egypt while Egypt remains on the delivery restriction list.
• Do not invent billing addresses or region settings to force acceptance.

Keep InstaPay and Fawry for everyday EGP payments. If you proceed with RedotPay after reading Article 206, use it for an international virtual card after funding with crypto — prefer SAVE2 at virtual-card checkout. Physical delivery to Egypt is not available.
