How does a refund actually get back to my RedotPay account?

RedotPay describes a card refund as four handoffs, and you only control the first one:

  1. You ask the merchant. Contact the merchant directly to start the refund.
  2. The merchant processes it. Timing varies by merchant. Some refunds are quick. Others can take 30 days or more.
  3. RedotPay receives the money from the merchant. RedotPay calls this the longest part of the process, and says it is outside RedotPay's control.
  4. RedotPay credits your account. One Help Center article says that credit happens within 2–15 days after RedotPay receives the refund, and that you are notified when it is credited. A second article says that once RedotPay receives the refund from the merchant, it credits your RedotPay account right away, and that the main delay is how fast the merchant processes their side.

Those two articles do not use the same words for the credit step. Use the window that matches what you are waiting on: merchant processing first, then a credit after RedotPay has the funds. This page does not turn that into a single guaranteed date.

Labels such as Authorized, Reversal, and Refunded are a separate topic. Read transaction status if the app is still showing a hold rather than a completed refund.

Why hasn't my refund been credited yet?

Refund time depends on the type of transaction and on how quickly the merchant processes the refund. RedotPay's published ranges are:

  • Authorization holds — usually released within a few days.
  • E-commerce and merchant refunds — typically 2–15 days, though some can take over a month depending on the merchant.

If the wait is already longer than you expected, contact the merchant and ask them to confirm they have processed the refund. If the merchant has confirmed it and the credit still has not appeared after 15 days, contact RedotPay customer support.

A decline is not the same wait. If the payment never went through, start with card payment declined before you chase a merchant refund.

Why is the refund less than what I paid?

When you pay with a RedotPay card, a transaction fee of around 1% is added on top of the merchant's price. The merchant only receives the purchase amount, not that fee. When the merchant refunds you, they return the amount they received. The original transaction fee is not in that return, so the credit can be slightly lower than what you initially paid.

The card fee table lists a 1.00% transaction fee and describes it as the cryptocurrency conversion fee. The figures and the other card charges are on fees and limits. This page does not compute a guaranteed leftover amount from that line.

What fee applies if a deposit is refunded, and when does that money arrive?

A deposit refund is a different article from a card-purchase refund. If your deposit is refunded, the refund channel or bank may charge a handling fee. For a small deposit, that fee may be larger than the amount being refunded, and in that case there may be nothing left to return. The handling-fee article does not publish a fixed dollar amount.

A separate Help Center article says that once a refund is processed, it usually arrives within 3–7 business days, depending on your bank. In some cases RedotPay needs to review supporting documents before it can process the refund. If that happens, submit the requested information promptly so the review can finish.

Do not mix that 3–7 business day bank window with the 2–15 day merchant-refund window above. Match the article to the kind of refund you are waiting on.

Can I still receive a refund if I delete the card or the account?

Deleting the card: if a refund is still pending, keep the card active until it is processed. Refunds are sent back to the card used for the original purchase. If that card is deleted, RedotPay may not be able to credit the refund to your account.

Deleting the account: no. Once the account is deleted, RedotPay is unable to process any refunds to it. Before you request deletion, make sure every pending transaction and every expected refund has fully cleared. Review recent transaction history and confirm that no refund is in progress. Deletion is permanent, and funds cannot be recovered afterward.

Frequently asked questions

Who do I contact to start a RedotPay card refund?

Contact the merchant directly. RedotPay credits the refund after the merchant sends it. RedotPay says receiving that money from the merchant is the longest part and is outside RedotPay's control.

How long do merchant and e-commerce refunds take?

Typically 2–15 days, though some take over a month depending on the merchant. Authorization holds are usually released within a few days. If the merchant has confirmed the refund and it has not appeared after 15 days, contact RedotPay customer support.

Why did I get less back than I paid?

A transaction fee of around 1% is added on top of the merchant's price. The merchant refunds only the amount they received, which does not include that fee, so the credit can be slightly lower.

Will a refunded deposit be reduced by a handling fee?

It can. If a deposit is refunded, the refund channel or bank may charge a handling fee. On a small deposit that fee may be larger than the refund, and then there may be nothing left to return. The article does not state a fixed fee.

Should I delete my card while a refund is still pending?

No. Keep the card active until pending refunds are processed. Refunds go back to the card used for the purchase, and a deleted card may mean RedotPay cannot credit the refund.

Can a deleted RedotPay account still receive a refund?

No. After the account is deleted, RedotPay cannot process refunds to it. Deletion is permanent, and funds cannot be recovered afterward. Clear pending transactions and expected refunds first.
